If you purchase a service from Management Information Solutions, Inc. (MIS, Inc.), the parent company of BeanCounter.Solutions, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date).

We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

When you purchase a product or service, you have the option to subscribe to our email newsletter.

When you place an order to purchase a product or service from us, you will receive an acknowledgment of that order immediately via email. You can expect to receive your product within one week of placing your order.

Surveys

From time-to-time, we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site. If you participate in surveys, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you, therefore, have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code).

We use may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest, survey, membership or merchandise purchase with other third parties. 

Communications from the Site

Newsletters

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section. Our email newsletter is sent up to once per week.

Customer Service

Based on the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)

We share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners. This information does not identify individual users. Aggregated demographic data is shared with trade organizations; current and potential clients; program and event partners/collaborators; and in public relations.

We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information.

Personally identifiable information:

We share personally identifiable Information with third parties only for the purpose of handling payments, fulfilling orders or for agents to process bulk mailings.

Agents

We use a credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes. We also use third-party mail houses to handle bulk mailings of fulfillments, billings and printed materials.

Service Providers

Click & Pledge provides online credit card processing services. When you sign up for goods or services, merchandise, or newsletters, we will share your name, address, email address and/or credit card information as necessary for the third party to provide that service.

MailChimp provides newsletters and bulk email processing. We only share your name and email address with MailChimp.

These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website

Choice/Opt-out

We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes when we ask for this information. For example, if you purchase a product/service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference on our order form.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by e-mailing us.

We offer an opportunity to opt-out of certain communications via email. You may also opt-out by postal mail at MIS, Inc. PO Box 18846, St. Louis, MO  63118.

Log Files

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We do not use permanent cookies on this site. We do, however, maintain temporary cookies to maintain session information. They are deleted when the session ends. We also use anonymous website analytics software, which use cookies to collect anonymous traffic data.

Digital Submissions Terms of Use and Privacy

You may submit audio, video, and photographic content (“User Content”) and textual content (“User Comments”). User Content and User Comments are collectively referred to as “User Submissions.” You understand that whether or not such User Submissions are published, MIS, Inc. does not guarantee any confidentiality with respect to any User Submissions.

You shall be solely responsible for your own User Submissions and the consequences of posting or publishing them. However, by submitting User Submissions to MIS, Inc., you hereby grant  MIS, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the website and  MIS, Inc.’s business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the website or User testimonials (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the website a non-exclusive license to access your User Submissions through the website and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such User Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms. The above licenses granted by you in User Comments are perpetual and irrevocable.

In connection with User Submissions, you further agree that you will not submit material that is defamatory, copyrighted, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant  MIS, Inc. all of the license rights granted herein.

MIS, Inc. does not endorse any User Submission or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and  MIS, Inc. expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with User Submissions.  MIS, Inc. does not permit copyright infringing activities and infringement of intellectual property rights on the website, and  MIS, Inc. will remove all content and User Submissions if properly notified that such content or User Submission infringes on another’s intellectual property rights.  MIS, Inc. reserves the right to remove content and User Submissions without prior notice.
